Gas line work
New gas lines for ranges, dryers, water heaters and grills, plus leak repairs and extensions, installed by a licensed Maryland gas fitter and tested before we leave.
Licensed gas fitting
Gas work is not a place for shortcuts. Every new line, extension and repair needs the right pipe and fittings, a proper shutoff at each appliance and a pressure test before the gas goes back on. Our master plumber and gas fitter, license #77034, handles the work from planning the run to lighting the appliance.
Whether you are switching a range from electric to gas, adding a dryer line, connecting a new water heater or chasing a gas smell, we explain the work and the price before we start.
When to call
Some gas issues are planned upgrades. Others need attention right away.
A rotten egg odor means leave the house, then call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Once it is safe, we repair the line.
A hissing sound at a pipe, fitting or appliance connection can mean gas is escaping and needs to be checked.
Burners that burn low or yellow instead of blue can point to supply or appliance problems worth inspecting.
A new range, dryer, water heater or grill needs a properly sized line and shutoff before it is connected.
How we work
We look at the appliance, the existing piping and the route, and size the line for the gas load.
You get a clear price for the work and know what is involved before any gas is shut off.
We run the pipe, add a shutoff at the appliance and make every connection with the correct fittings.
The system is pressure tested and checked for leaks, then appliances are relit and checked before we leave.
Why Empire
Gas work needs proper licensing and careful testing. Empire is led by a Maryland master plumber and gas fitter, so your gas line is installed and checked by someone qualified to do it. We work cleanly, explain what we are doing and do not leave until everything is tested.
Master plumber and gas fitter licensing, with gas work done to code and ready for inspection.
Every new line, extension and repair is pressure tested before the gas is turned back on.
We connect and relight ranges, dryers and water heaters, so the job is finished when we leave.
You know the cost of the line or repair before we start, with no add-ons after the fact.
Questions

Leave the building right away and do not use light switches, phones or anything that could spark inside. From a safe distance, call your gas utility’s emergency line or 911. Once the utility has made it safe, call us to find and repair the leak properly.
Often yes, if there is gas service to the house. We run a new line from the existing piping to the kitchen, add a shutoff and connect the range. We check that your system can carry the added load and explain the route and price first.
Gas work generally requires a permit and inspection in Maryland jurisdictions. Requirements depend on where you live and the scope of the job. We let you know what applies to your project before we start.
Yes. We run a line outside to a grill, fire pit or patio heater with a shutoff at the connection, sized for the appliance. We look at the route and tell you what is involved before starting.
After the work, we pressure test the piping to make sure it holds without any drop, then check connections for leaks. Only after the line passes do we turn the gas back on and relight appliances.
